Imagine a summer where learning and adventure go hand in hand, set against the picturesque backdrop of the Connecticut shoreline. Oxford Academy’s Summer on the Shoreline program offers just that for boys and girls in grades 8-12 and postgraduates. This unique experience combines academic enrichment with exciting outdoor activities, creating an ideal personal growth and exploration environment. Unlike traditional summer schools, Oxford’s program emphasizes individualized instruction and small seminar courses, ensuring that each student receives personalized attention and thrives in a supportive atmosphere. But the learning doesn’t stop in the classroom. Students can dive into practical skills like college preparation, honing their essay writing, and application strategies. The English as a Second Language program provides comprehensive language support for international students. Beyond academics, the summer comes alive with a plethora of extracurricular activities. Participants can try sailing in the local marina, enjoy horseback riding lessons at the Westbrook Hunt Club, or explore the coastline through fishing, kayaking, and paddle boarding. The program’s location in Westbrook, CT, offers the perfect blend of seaside charm and proximity to urban centers like New York City and Boston, allowing for cultural excursions and diverse experiences. Whether boarding or attending as a day student in a CT boarding school institution like Oxford Academy, a summer program promises an unforgettable journey of learning, growth, and summer fun.

Much of the community gathered for a fun hands-on collaboration between Mr. Switaj’s Modern Warfare class and Mr. Price’s Physics class. We all got to see an important historical tool of warfare – demonstrated by our OA trebuchet – and the science behind it. Mr. Price said it best yesterday: “This is science. This is history. This is fun.”
