Oxford Academy Summer Session 2025

summer 2025

“As a community, we strive to create a shared focus of cooperative and positive living and social emotional growth experiences. We inspire students to be positive and aware of the impact of their actions, appreciate their community, and do their best to self-actualize. After Oxford, a student should feel prepared to encounter the world as an educated citizen who demonstrates care for others, perseverance, and resilience.”
— Matt LaSota, Dean of Students

Summer Session: June 23 – July 25, 2025

Oxford summer students will experience personal growth through the Character and Leadership curriculum formation developed by Mr. LaSota and implemented by all in the Oxford community. The curriculum is based off the Core Values of Community, Respect, Kindness, Integrity, Civility and taught seminar style where students are divided into age-appropriate groups.

Individualized education plans are made with the student and held during the morning hours. With our co-ed student body, our afternoon sessions are full of character and social enrichment activities, collaborative play opportunities, and evening or weekend trips to countless attractions. We are a short 5-minute walk to the Connecticut shoreline and a 2-hour train ride to Boston, NYC, and surrounding areas that offer sporting events, museums, amusement parks, etc.

Experience Social Cohesion with Oxford Academy Summer Session

“The bonds that hold a society together, including shared values, trust, and a sense of belonging.”

Oxford Academy summer session is a rich opportunity to experience social cohesion. Our collaborative team spends countless hours preparing academic curriculum and social emotional enrichment activities for a fulfilling, life-altering, confidence building 5 week program.

  • Social Safety: Protection and well-being of individuals within a community.
  • Social Risk: The art of practicing vulnerability in social settings.
  • Connection: Mutual understanding, communication, and shared experiences.

Arrival day (June 23rd) is our favorite day. The bees aren’t the only ones buzzing with summer vibes. We welcome our summer students, both domestic and international AND it’s the ONLY time the Oxford Community hosts GIRLS! Our summer session is open to boys and girls ages 13-19, day and boarding students. This creates a rich culture immersion program for our Oxford community in a jam-packed 5-week program. A student may benefit from this opportunity by being able to experience independence in a boarding school environment, fostering developmental growth as well as social opportunities to practice relationship skills with all genders in our specific age group. We create safety among ourselves by recruiting and retaining staff and faculty as well as a student body that reflects our core beliefs of being: Valued, Accepted, Encouraged, Appreciated, and Respected. We are fortunate to have Anne Chatillon, LMFT, working alongside many to create and maintain a safe environment where there is freedom to express thoughts and feelings, in order to nurture growth and resilience. Anne is systemically trained and her style is strength-based and humanistic. You will see her on field trips, in the hallways of the classrooms and dormitories and in the dining hall, sharing meals with students. She works behind the scenes with her co-workers to pair students up who may have a lot in common but didn’t know how to reach out to each other to develop a connection. She sets up social risk challenges for some kids who have zero or very few friends and hosts fun activities or rewards to celebrate any “wins” they experience at the end of the week. Her main goal is to be accessible and foster connections among the students and her colleagues.
